I was going through a QRH for an airplane and was thinking this: Let's say I'm dealing with a sophisticated payware airliner, and get an Engine vibration warning on the display. At the present time, there would be no way to have that particular payware airplane to communicate with Accu-Feel to provide an appropriate custom effect. It would take a custom module based on that particular aircraft's SDK, or perhaps just a script to read the variable state and talk to Accu-Feel to apply a particular effect...but the point being that it would be a
custom effect that would only work for that particular payware airplane and provide a very specific effect.
Wouldn't it be cool if there was some repository of airplane-specific effects that could be downloaded, a la carte, placed in a plug-in directory within Accu-Feel similar to what you might do with Photoshop, or for that matter, FSUIPC and its LUA plugins....then people could come on here and say hey, I need an excessive engine vibration effect for the pmdg md-11, or I need an appropriate airflow noise for nacelle separation in the Coolsky Dc-9, or a stall effect unique to the Fairy Flysnatch, or whatever. In addition to the bank of Sliders you presently have, you could add an empty white box allowing the user to Browse to a directory of effects and add/remove to list the special effects that apply to a given aircraft's profile.
Stupid?? (I don't know if you guys would actually be willing to research and design aircraft-specific custom effects for
other developers aircraft)
