Hey folks,

One great touch that has been part of the last few Accusim birds is the 'headphones' option. It simulates the noise reduction one would hear by putting on their headset. Perhaps something similar can be achieved with Accu-feel. You could have some checkable option for each aircraft's profile...that way accusim planes that already have the feature won't be affected. This could possibly be linked to a keyboard shortcut or something for quick operation. The 'headphones' then will reduce the ambient/aircraft noises by some adjustable percentage. My David Clark 13.4s and others like it will muffle a lot of sound. ANR headsets will muffle out a lot more. A lot of you probably have experience with various aviation headsets and helmets to know what types of noises are muffled. With an adjustable reduction percentage the user can simulate different types of headsets. ATC and Multiplayer voice volumes could be unaffected.

Anyway, food for thought on the development plate.

Cheers
TJ

TJ,

This one is not so easy because to do this right, you have to alter all the sounds. The global sound volume in FSX is one of those few things that is not directly accessible.

Our headphones for the Accu-Sim birds dampens the Accu-Sim volume, which in the Spitfire and P-40, is considerable while in the cockpit.

Scott.
