Accu-feel on fsx Steam

Post by satena71 »

Thank you in advance for any advice or solution in this matter, my situation its as follow:

1. FSX Acceleration (service pack 1+2) working properly with Accu-feel V2.
2. Accu-feel V2 and FSX are installed on their own folder away from OS (Win7)
3. I installed FSX STEAM (Download version, yesterday) on his own folder, own drive and away from OS.
4. Both simulators working properly with FSUIPC (last version).
5. I installed Accu-feel v2 in to FSX Steam.
6.I run FSX steam and there is not menu for Accu-feel on the tool bar.
7.I did check all the Dll.xml entries and did changes as suggested on other posts, still nothing happen.
8. when I installed Accu-feel I did pointed the installer as follow (D:\its where FSX Steam was installed)
D:\team fsx\fsx
9. I verify on C: drive and I have both folders FSX and Steam FSX with the respective Dll.xml files
10. Should I installed Accu-feel in another way?is another solution, or where those lines from Dll.xml goes into?

thank you again

Oscar

Hello,

please see here;
The FSX Add-On / Accu-Feel Setup pull down menu is missing.
1. Using a text editor like Notepad, open your C:\Users\[YOUR USER NAME]\Appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\dll.xml file and verify these entries exist:
(If you cannot find the dll.xml, In WINDOWS, open your CONTROL PANEL / Appearance and Personalization / Folder Options / View / then click on "Show hidden files, folders, and drives)

<Launch.Addon>
<Name>A2A Feel</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Path>Modules\A2A_Feel.dll</Path>
<DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
<DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
</Launch.Addon>

<Launch.Addon>
<Name>AccuFeelMenu</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Path>Modules\AccuFeelMenu.dll</Path>
</Launch.Addon>

2. Open your [FSX Install] / Modules folder and verify that these two dlls are there:
- AccuFeelMenu.dll
- A2A_Feel.dll

NOTE:
When you first ran FSX after installing Accu-Feel, you should have been prompted to load the new DLL. If you didn't receive this prompt, then Accu-Feel is not loading.
If you have both FSX versions installed though you may have two app roaming directories as the steam version will have detected your disc install and so to prevent issues made some changes. This is why its advised against having both installed at the same time.

Lewis,

I really thank you for your time and prompt response, but after 2 hours, I found the problem :shock: , it works for me so maybe it can work for someone else, so let's see:

1. when you have both FSX and FSX Steam installed, you are right you should have two rooming files FSX and FSX-Steam.
2. Before you made any changes to the Dll files, install Accufeel V 2 as follow,
2a. Install accu-feel in to a new folder no related to fsx or fsx-steam
2b. you will have two files, A2A and Modules.
2C. Now manually move them as follow to FSX-Steam as follow,
c1. Steam fsx\steamapps\common\fsx\modules\ "here you put all the dll files"
c2. Steam fsx\steamapps\common\fsx\ A2A, folder as it is.
3. Now run Fsx-steam and YEAHHHH is working...... :D

but if for any reason still doesn't work, so open the FSX-Steam Dll file and made the changes as suggested by Lewis, then run again FSX Steam and you should be up and flying. :wink:

Lewis ....again thx, and I hope this help many more like me with FSX Steam and FSX install at the same time.

Thanks for the update and glad you got it working. Just a heads up what you did will also apply to some other add-ons in particular some sceneries as the scenery files also get moved when having a double FSX disc and steam install. I cannot recommend enough to just stick to one install for ease of running.

thanks,

Dear

Perhaps someone knows the answer//solution and can help me.
I have a problem is starting AccuFeel. I bought the add-on in the Dovetail-Steam-FSE-shop.
I asked them for help and the answer was.. Sorry it's third party ?????
Oke.:( At the end I still can't use AccuFeel.

Failuremessage:
FlightSimulation has detected a problem with a third-party software program (add-on):
(In this case AccuFeel-software)
File: DLC\379546\Modules\A2A_Feel.dll
Do you want to run this software (not recommended)?
To avoid seeing this message in the future, uninstall this program or disable its ability to start when running FS.

Question: Please help what should I do ??

Hello and welcome to the forums.

Try running a steam verification of files first and then restart your system when its finished. Here's how;

I have exactly the same problem. I bought Accu Feel as part of the FSX SE: Premium Edition. Everything shows as installed including Accu Feel but it doesn't work. There is no accessible in game Accu Feel menu and no A2A menu in windows 10 program list. I took a look through the installed FSX directory and can see no reference to Accu Feel or A2A.

I have gone through the steam verification process and even re-installed FSX along with Accu Feel and repeated the verification process - still nothing.

Must be a common problem because I have trolled through various FSX forum's looking for an answer and seen this issue mentioned several times.

Would appreciate some assistance.

thanks
Phil

It sounds like your steam is not installing correctly the DLC.

go here;
\FSX\DLC\379546\_DLCConfigData

And run the installdlc.bat which should add the relevant data to the dllxml.For steam edition that is this;
<Launch.Addon>
<Name>A2A Feel</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Path>DLC\379546\Modules\A2A_Feel.dll</Path>
<DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
<DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
</Launch.Addon>
<Launch.Addon>
<Name>AccuFeelMenu</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Path>DLC\379546\Modules\AccuFeelMenu.dll</Path>
</Launch.Addon>
thanks,
Lewis

Hello,

what is the error message?

The only message you tend to get when adding new software to FSX is the allow or disallow the new files (dll's) to be loaded. Once you click allow you should'nt be asked this again.
