I seem to recall that an added feature promised for the update was to have wind sound when opening a window. can anyone say if this feature has been add in this update? I am asking, as if this is so then I may have a bad install as I don't have this.

Thanks,
Robin.

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, that's the least of my problem. It seems this update has broken my installation of accu Feel. I no longer have any of the features of the software working. Its as if it was not installed on my system. no stall buffeting no added wind sound no tire screech on landing.
To make matters worst if I go to the Accu-Feel menu to attempt to adjust any settings, after hitting save and exit, FSX just freezes and I have to go to task manager where it says FSX is not responding. i then have to end process here. Some time upon hitting the save and exit in Accu-Feel I get the blue screen windows crash.

I am using windows 7 64bit with UAC turned off, I run the installation with administrator privileges.
I guess i will un install and try to reinstall just the original ver. and wait until the public is done beta testing, and the actual update is released.

PS. I do know that the update was installed as when i go to the accu-feel menu I see the added option for open cockpit.

Also, after each freeze/ BSOFD, when i restart FSX and go into accu-feel menu none of the changes I made are saved. all sliders are at the default settings.

Thanks.
robin.

Romeo_Tango,

This is an odd reaction. I would try re-installing the original version and check, then download and install v.1.08 again and check.

Scott.

Do not be offended by my response, I am just frustrated.
I followed your advise; un installing and re installing. result is the same. The original version still works as it did before, but after installing the update everything is screwed as I described in my original post.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Robin

Robin,

Not sure the following will help in this case but just in case, you mention running as administrator privileges, are you also right clicking the installation setup file and selecting 'run as administrator'. Note that this is different than having an administrator account and is the correct method and good practice for PC use in 64bit Vista or Win7 environment.

Think of administrator account as system administrator so limited and the run as administrator as the full top level administrator with full right across the system/network.

thanks,
Lewis

Lewis, that is what I did. Right click on installer and click 'run as administrator'.

Thanks for following up and trying to help. I think I have it working now. the following is what I did.

I un installed Accu-Feel; re installed ver. 1., went to FSX modules folder, copied the acufeel.dll to a safe place; I then uninstalled acufeel. rebooted my system, moved the accufeel.dll that i saved, back to the FSX modules folde, ran the installer for the update (note i did not re install ver.1).

I have not had a chance to test extensively but so far I have been able to adjust sliders in the acufeel menu and save them and get back to the sim without any freezes or system crashes. I have the new option for adjusting stall parameters and for selecting open cockpits so I assume I am running the update as intended. I just got home but will do some flights tonight and see if the different slider setting are actually holding and making a difference.

I will report later.
Robin.

Ok spoke too soon. My first attempt at running the sim tonight, and upon entering the accu sim menu and adjusting the stall parameters and save and exit the sim froze. So I am back to square one.
Help.

Robin.

Do you have to make any exception etc in your anti-virus program?

It kinda sounds almost like a program is interferring with read/writing of accufeel causing issues.

Also is your FSX installed in the default program files (which can cause issues in FSX) or in a new directory, such as c:/FSX

Hope I am not getting ahead of myself, I did a re install of simmconnect and now everything seems fine. made adjustments to all sliders and saved a few times, checked all features and everything is working as it should.

Thanks.
