Can the guys experiencing the issue still please try generating new .dat files by removing the old ones for the P-40.

thanks,

Reporting back, went to directory: C:\Users\Don\Documents\A2A\FSX\P40

I did as you requested, I deleted all
P40BAVG.Log.dat files
P40B.Log.dat files
P40C.Log.dat files
TomahawkIIBLog.dat files

.... I started with the AVG model ---->>> P40B model ( CTD ), ------>>> P40C model, ---->>> TomahawkIIB model ....

.... had a CTD with P40B model as stated above, deleted the P40B.Log.dat file again.... went back and flew the P40B .... all is well now.

I'll go out for more testing runs tomorrow!

For now I cannot reproduce the issue for some reason. It's weird because I didn't change anything in my installation!? I'll keep trying though and report back asap when it happens again.

Reporting back,

It is the strangest thing !

I just took the P40C back up for testing at Bill Womack's KACK, Nantucket and NO CTD and I did not delete the .dat files from my CTD this morning!

It has got to be one of those A.M.C. Gremlins that live in FSX.

.... oh, and not to slander the car manufacturer, A.M.C. is the acronym for Aircraft Mechanic's Consortium

It beats me !

I'm back.

This time I was just taxing out to the active at CIELOSIM's KPAO. I had not even taken off.

I have FSX Mesh Resolution: set at 2 m

This time I noticed that :
SODE v. 1.3.1.0 ---->>> in sub folder of 12bPilot for Bill Womack's Nantucket scenery
from my previous post regarding Bill Womack's Nantucket had ask me to close FSX and restart ... I did not ... I just told that little box to "Close".

I do not remember it running the other day when I had CTD.

And as I understand there is even a newer version of SODE 1.4 something that I'm not upgraded to.

I do not think [2] versions of SODE would affect the P40.

I'll delete the .dat files again tonight. Oh, what does the P40CLog.dat.f files ---->>> "failure" ?

UPDATE: I spoke too soon. After uninstalling and reinstalling, I made a few successful landings, but eventually FSX crashed at touchdown again. I then deleted the .dat files, resulting in one successful landing and an FSX crash on the next.

I had seen this thread but hadn't followed it. I took my P-40 up around Hawaii tonight doing a video and to my surprise I had an FSX crash as soon as the gear touched too. I was flying the P-40B and my only add ons are Orbx scenery.

Thanks for keeping us updated with the solid reporting guys, if you can let us know any more it'd be great and help us narrow down the field further whilst our guys continue looking into causes.

I would suggest if possible please trying it with a default setup, helping exclude add-on scenery etc.

thanks

I got the video uploaded last night and looking back at it, the crash wasn't immediately on touchdown. I bounced and the crash was after that, possibly the second time the wheels touched. I didn't edit anything, when the video fades out that's where FSX crashed and the recording stopped.

Hmmmm,

I had a CTD also the other night with the P40C again with the same event log as I've posted above but I did not post it here.
I know the team is taking a look at it for us.
Your flight was pretty much typical to how I landed.... very near stall speed at threshold and your VS was only about -200 fpm ... not too rough on the ol' girl.

I think I recall that my 1st. post may have been a CTD on the wheels 1st. touch down.
My later CTD's have all been on the 2nd. bounce of the wheels!

Just food for thoughts, how many of you have Accufeel installed? I have it. Maybe some interactions between modules?
