weird generator behavior?
weird generator behavior?
I have noticed lately that my generator on the p-40 is not on even when i flip on the switch in the panel; I usually have to hit ctrl-e to get it to engage, can someone please enlighten me as to what is going on and how to fix it? thank you in advance. p.s. i have not checked my other a2a aircraft for this behavior yet, so it is possible that others are exhibiting the same behavior.
Orville's law: when the altitude of the ground at your current location exceeds the altitude of your aircraft, you have most assuredly crashed.

Hello,
Do you have the latest core update if an Accu-sim user?
Also have you tried loading a new flight and. It using a saved flight?
Thanks,

Re: weird generator behavior?
Are we talking about the ground unit, or the in aircraft generator? I believe, if I recall offhand, that the generator can only run when the prop is spinning, and even then only at a specific RPM. Unfortunately I am on campus and cannot confirm this.
Re: weird generator behavior?
Cody is correct, the engine driven generator kicks in at 1500 RPM. You will norice it by a current jump up to ~22 amps.
