42-104590 Banshee White #44 (Released)

Post by blackhawks »

42-104590, Burma Banshees, White 44, Lt. Philip Adair "Lulu Belle"

Just started on this one and quite a way to go. I'll also do "Lulu Belle II" if I can figure out the serial number, and get the hubcap art correct.
Here's a picture so far. No spec or alpha files, so it isn't as crisp as it will be. (That will also make the whitewalls white in the final version) I'm going to dig around the other paint kits, and mess with the bump files a bit and see if I can get some treads on these tires. No promises, but I should have it wrapped up sometime over the weekend.

Ian P's "Khowpur valley". http://www.ianpsdarkcorner.co.uk/node/22

I believe all of my screenshots for P-40 paints are at one or another of his airfields. I'll start throwing in a link in the posts.

Paint is progressing, and I have successful treads on the tires now. I'm at work most of the day today, but will get back to painting tonight.

I'll release the tires separately with the bump file too, so anyone who wants them can use them on other models/paints.

Thanks for the kind words guys, always appreciated.

A little more progress... I had a lot less time to paint this week than I had hoped for.

I should have this one finished quickly, and Lulu Belle II will follow soon afterward.

Thank you for doing this, Mike. Col Philip Adair is the father of a daughter with whom I flew with in the USAF. He passed away this past Saturday at the age of 97 and I just had the honor of attending his viewing. Very distinguished man. He has a collection of photos under his name in the 89th FS at burmabanshees.com Well worth the time viewing this images.
