Just curious, now that I'm actually making flights that don't destroy engines or start fires, I wonder if there's a reason my 377 couldn't go a bit faster.
With a light load and 75% fuel at FL14, MP at 40 and rpm at 2100, I'm only going 192 knots indicated. Is this normal? I'm thinking 225 would be better but bumping up the MP and rpm would probably damage things (?)
Thanks.

192 kts indicated at 14000' is still something like 245 true airspeed!

Re: A Faster 377?
Also are you following the procedure to get on the step as per the manual? The manual suggested to climb above you desired cruise altitude and then descend into it with the climb power still on. Once you've reached your cruise altitude reduce power to cruise settings. I tend to climb 1000ft above my cruise altitude and then descent with 500ft/min. After reaching my cruise altitude I reduce power. I get pretty good results I think though I don't have any exact numbers ready.

I didn't read that but I think I experienced that once and thought I should do that on purpose. LOLPiper_EEWL wrote:Also are you following the procedure to get on the step as per the manual? Thanks for your input.
