Would love to fly with you guys, but a new computer purchase, Windows 10 and FSX:SE crashes, have grounded me. After a week of dealing with this and at best only come up with temporary solutions, have to wait for Microsoft to fix the problem. I'm heading to Prepare3D this morning.

Have fun.

Well I've installed JoinFS, and found the Skypark server. Installed Discord, which is a little easier to set up than Teamspeak ( still a silly name, however :P ). My only problem now lies with P3Dv3 which for some reason keeps slowing down to about 2 frames per minute  . I shall persevere.

Paul, do you have "ATC" checked in the JoinFS options? Some members of the 91st BG found that having that checked in some versions of P3D caused frame rates to drop dramatically.

What aircraft are you flying? We noticed it with the A2A B-17G. Not sure about other A2A aircraft though.
I fly FSX and don't have that issue.

Great fun peoples, great first little test worked brilliantly.

We flew just the one leg and had what I believe was P3Dv3, P3DV4 and FSX all flying together in C182, Comanche, T-6 and P-51's, with some good banter on the comms using the A2A Community discord.

Big thanks to TheSkylounge http://www.theskylounge.tv/ for server use.

Look forward to the next one, i'll post a new thread for the next flight, date and time. I think next time out I'll take the C182 for a spin.

cheers for everyone that joined,

Despite technical difficulties with out-of-the-box FSX, I was able to get on, stay on, and see other aircraft in my airspace that were not computer generated. Great to listen to the on-channel banter, however every time I used the push-to-talk the sim would change my view similar to pushing the 'S' key. Also in cockpit volume was relatively loud vs the on-air conversation. I will fix both of these for next time.

Thanks again Lewis it was fantastic! :)

Looked like good fun, can't wait to join in again on the next leg.
It's been a while since I left my spitfire parked up at LIRI.
Unfortunately having flown all the legs in it I can no longer continue rtw in it because it isn't available for p3d v4 yet. Hint Hint!

It was a very enjoyable evening, with a scenic trip over Italy. Salerno to Taranto - look up both in WW2 history books, folks. Thinking about it, I should have taken a Fairey Swordfish, but the A2A Cessna 182 was a bit more comfortable and better equipped. Got buzzed underneath by a P-51, but didn't have a pen and paper handy to take his number.

A huge thank you to Lewis for organizing it all and providing all the software and server links and whatnot. Thank you also once again to Paul ( Gypsy Baron ) for his assistance in getting up and running at the start.

By the way, during our in-flight chatting, I mentioned seeing a picture at Duxford of a flying helmet with horns. Well, here he is - Lt.Col. Louis Houck of the 365 Fighter Group.

A Lieutenant Colonel...am I getting old, or does he not look old enough to even be a lieutenant?
