Hey folks!
I just wanted to stop by and let everyone know that a fellow A2A pilot and I are in the process of starting up the FSX 4th Fighter Group. With the exception of the Warbirdsim P-51B/C, all of the AC we fly are A2A (A2A gods if you are smiling down upon us - please make a B/C model!!!!). Our goal is to replicate, as much as possible with in the limits of FSX, the flight experiences of the first fighter group formed in WWII. The aircraft we fly are the Spit, P-47 P-51 B/C and P-51D and yes we will be emulating some Eagle Squadron flights as well!
We plan on flying twice a week - one will be a 4th FG scenario the other will be a "screw off night" which may find us flying F-105s in Vietnam or simulating the Berlin Airlift or just going out and doing some 2v1 or 1v1 dog fighting, working on fighting in wing pairs, tactics and everything in between! However, on mission nights we'll strap on a 4th FG aircraft and go out and have some fun while keeping everything as realistic as FSX will allow.
My partner in crime on this venture and I also have real lives and we suspect some of you do too (how else can ya buy all those awesome A2A birds right?). Because of this we know that it can be difficult to commit to a minimum number of flights per month or to always make a mandatory training. Heck, he and I have run a number of successful VATSIM VAs and it wasn't uncommon to lose a good pilot because of real world commitments and an unrealistic activity requirement. If you join and can't fly for a month or so because of work or family commitments? No problem! The membership rules are on our website. So, having said that, we don't and likely won't have a full pilot roster with ranks and everything on the website instead we are going to focus that creative energy on building scenarios that are challenging and fun for our pilots.
So, feel free to visit our website at: http://www.FSX4thFG.com The website is fairly basic by design because we envision our forum as being the information HUB of the group. As I said, we are new (this is the first publicized notice!)
I hope to see you in the unfriendly skies!!
