FSX Air Sports Association [FASA] Grand Opening

Post by Buzz313th »

FASA, founded June 12th 2012, is a community of Flight Simulator enthusiasts that participate in online multiplayer air sport competitions and events. FASA currently uses Microsoft Flight Simulator X with it's multiplayer capability, as our primary simulator platform.

Currently FASA is offering the excitment and challenge of "Reno Pylon Racing" as it's first event format. Utilizing the incredible A2A Accu-Sim Warbird Addons, FASA will bring the sim pilot even closer to the fast paced world of Pylon Air Racing.

If your interested in participating in future FASA events please follow these easy steps.

1. Make sure you have a headset with a microphone.

2. Connect to the Digital ThemePark Teamspeak server with Teamspeak 3 Software at ts3.digitalthemepark.com

3. Make sure your Username in the Digital ThemePark TeamSpeak Server is the same username you will use to connect in FSX Multiplayer

4. Once Connected to the TS3 Server, seek out the Digital ThemePark TS3 server Admin named "Zoolander", explain to him that you are interested in FASA and he will give you a brief tour and make you a Citizen of the server.

5. Once a "Citizen", then proceed down to the "[FASA] FSX Air Sports Association" "Pit Area" Channel and left click on the "[FASA] FSX Air Sports Association" group channel. In the window to the right of TS3 you will see all the relevant news and download links for FASA, with a listing and information of upcoming events.

6. Feel free to browse around the Digital ThemePark Teamspeak Server to find other sim pilots to fly online with.

You can contact "Buzz313th" here via PM or on the TS3 Server if you have any questions.

Please make sure you check in to the TS3 server regularly to see updated status on upcoming events
Thanks

Fabulous. Looking foreword to meeting and simming with you.

Zoolander is almost always in there, although he may be afk. If you right click on his name and send him a message or poke him he will usually get back to you. If you can, just stay connected to TS3 and he will help. He runs a business out of his home, so he will be afk from time to time.

Unfortunately this is not my server, so only Zoolander has the ability to give out citizenship.

I am wriing this from my phone and will be back and on the tsp server by 2330zulu. Hope to seeya there.

What do you use to run the MP in? Game spy or some other connection
If you are still running game spy I would recommend changing to this program Hamachi https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/
Greatest thing we ever did flying in our Round The World trip in the B-17's http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtop ... 79&t=21872 was a night mare with guys dropping out all of the time
So we changed to Hamachi and have had no problems since, so far the largest group was 15 B-17's and 6 Spitfires with no dropouts

The server owner is running a direct connect bypassing gamespy. He has been around MP servers for a while and with help of other experts in FSX mp sessions he has found this to be the best solution for stable high resolution position updates.

It was a lot of fun, and hopefully next time I will be able to stick around for the actual race. Great event. I think that I need a lot more practice tho before the next run.

Yeah it was a lot of fun, even for the Tower Controller. Sorry you had to go between qualifying and the Race.. Maybe next time we will get to keep ya.

It's pretty funny.. I just reviewed the FSRecorder tracks and there were a couple of small Mishaps.. ;)

Looks like the final field swapped a bit.

If you want to download the race, you can find the tracks at the FASA Teamspeak channel.

I ran a few tests for my reference and experimentation. To see what would be better a heavy aircraft or a light aircraft. I figured I would share the results. The first one is with the engine left as it was after I hit the pole.
