Michel,

Here is a post from one of our testers:

The one thing that stands out in his original message is that this is a new computer that he just got. I would imagine that this is also a fresh install of FSX and the Spitfire. If both of those are true, then when I read the solutions one thing that may be happening is something is having trouble locating his FSX install path???

BTW: I've spent countless hours on the multiplayer servers using FS9 & FSX and I have never seen that message pop-up.

Hi,

Ensure UAC is disabled, and check you have the latest VC++ run-times installed.

After disabling UAC, you may need to re-install FSX and/or the Spitfire.

VC2005 run-times:

32-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/d ... laylang=en

64-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/d ... laylang=en

VC2008:

32-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/d ... laylang=en

64-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/d ... laylang=en

Best regards,
Robin.

thnak you guys for the quick reply.

i did what you told in your post and looking forward the result :) hopefully

so far I did mention i was able to fly in a MP session but the game crash after some time. The game also seems to crash when ther'e more than 4 spitfire in the same game.
I made a little test i figure that the accu sim module might not be the culprit : once the module is deinstalled i keep having crash which makes me the thnik the culprit would be the plane itself

so far I have nearly a dozen of my members having that particular issue and i would extremely glad that a solution could be found

Best regards

Michel

I also get this runtime error when I fly with others online, I dont have this problem with any other aircraft and Ive never seen it before, I have just shy of 100hrs in the accusim B-17 and that still works great. The only time Ive gotten this error not in a A2A spit is when I was flying with one and they had the error which subsequently cause me to crash.

I love your products and I really hope you can find a fix for this because I want to keep flying the spit :(

We have been flying using Gamespy in FSX and have no problems at all with the B-17's, P-47's and the Spitfire all in together

I think you guys still use FSHost? That could be the problem.

It happens in gamespy, I dont think anyone has even tried it in FSHost. The only thing Ive heard of it in free flight is someone use a program to get five other spits to fly formation with him and got a runtime error.

Hi,

AFAIK the server should not affect the sim to the point it crashes. All FS host is, is the MP part of FS in a stand-alone form.

I've flown the B-17, Spitfire and P-47 online with many others and never experienced a crash.

The "pure function call" error is usually related to a run-time problem on the computer experiencing the crash. Did you install the run-times I linked to? These usually fix the problem.

I suggest disabling all other add-ons and trying it again. I don't run anything in FSX except the aircraft. It could be another module actually causing the crash. I know people have things like ASA, REX, etc.. running, and these have modules installed in the sim.

Best regards,
Robin.

Just saw this post. I have duplicated this situation and know how to prevent this from
occurring in the freeflight AI environment, however I am waiting until I can do some further
testing with regard to the MP error situation and examine possible causes/solutions before
I make my test results known. It may be that the freeflight AI RT error has a different
"trigger" than the MP case.

This is most likely true but in the case of MP it appears that an element common to all those in
a session with the same software present experience the RT error. Those without that software
do not experience the error. Something is being propagated in the MP sessions that triggers
the error. I have some clues in this area but things like REX, etc do not appear to enter into
the situation.

All FS host is, is the MP part of FS in a stand-alone form.
If that's the case how come the FSHost developer gave up on it - unable to get smooth position-rendering of MP planes*?

And is there, therefore, anyone who knows how to write a little app just to let us choose what aircraft the other MPs show as if we don't actually posess their aircraft?

*Impossible and unpleasant to fly formation with an aircraft that jerks all over the sky and teleports forwards and backwards as well. He said there was something Microsoft wasn't telling whereas the other side said he just didn't understand Simconnect.

we in the 91st BG have the same problems.
there is someone working on it to see if it can be solved
looks like the spitfire a2a is the problem.
have to wait to see if that is a right statement
