Howdy,

I'm new to A2A warbirds but not new to the VA world as I have been involved in the modern airline VA's since 2006. But I would like to know if there are any VA's or other online organizations that focus on flying the warbirds in a multiplayer environment? I knew there was a VA that focused on the DC-3 (DC3airways, I believe) which had reenactment flights of "the Hump" but I'm not sure if they are still around and they didn't fly the A2A aircraft. I've seen footage of the A2A B-17s flying in formation with fighter escort and that looks like a blast but I would think there is enough interest to have regular organized reenactments or other group events.

Any ideas or pointers appreciated

You may also wish to check out the 91st Bombardment Group (H)

http://www.91stbombardmentgroup.com/

We regularly fly the same missions the 91st flew back in WWII.
There are also other missions and campaigns flown in the
CBI and Italy along with ongoing training flights.

We fly the A2A B-17G, Spitfires, P-51D and P-47 as well
as some non-Accu-sim aircraft (DC-3/C-47, AF F4U, others)

We have our own channels on the Digital Theme Park Teamspeak
server and fly on both DTP servers.

Dang it Buzz...that's what happens when one doesn't read the links fully! :)

I blame it on the little screen on my netbook. That's my story and
I'm sticking to it :)

GB... I was worried that you just breezed over my post and thought I was advertising for FASA... But in reality I was advertising for you guys. ... ;)

I wish I had the time to come fly four hour plus missions, but as you guys know, I usually get interupted by the munchkins about 30 minutes into a flight. One of these days I will join u all in a big giant formation over the channel.

You are welcome anytime Buzz. And you need not fly the
entire mission. You can fly fighter escort for any portion.

Join at the start or join inflight. Many of our members have
a similar RL situation and can't make the entire flight.

Thanks fellas, The 91st BG looks very enticing. Do you have to fly the B-17 or can a pilot be only a fighter pilot?

Although we are centered around the 91st BG B-17 operations you
can choose to fly the A2A P-51D, P-40 or the Spitfires.

We also have an 'Italian Campaign' that uses the A2A P-47 and
a 'China-Burma-India Campaign' using the MAMMSIM C-47/DC-3's.

And of course fighter escort for our B-17 missions.

Thanks, Paul!

Got the MAAM DC-3, Got the A2A P-40, Getting, er check that--got the A2A P51D. Very interested in the China-Burma theater action. Sounds like a fit to me!
