Fuel Gauges Not Reading

Post by cflord »

Master switch on, engine running with generator on, and both upper and lower fuel tanks full, my fuel gauges are reading "0". There is fuel in the tanks and electrical power available, why are my fuel gauges not working? Any help you could give me would be appreciated.

IIRC, the fuel gauges are on a momentary contact switch (they only work when you mash the button) try pushing the small black button at the bottom left of each gauge and see what happens.

Yes Cliff,

Momentary buttons for fuel gauges.

I'm curious though ... "Master Switch on"?

Yes I had the same "issue" with the Spitfire before. And I learned that they used those "on demand" fuel gauges because the Spitfire MkI and II didn't have a battery switch. And in order to preserve the battery life when the engine is off the gauges only read if you push the button.

I just noticed that your coolant temp is very high in that screenshot. It's hard to manage in the Spitfire. I remember my first flight in the Spit. I totally cooked the engine
