I cannot speak top FSUIPC, just not sure what they are doing. What if you just leave it as is, and only make the change to the aircraft.cfg? The lights should be unaffected and the FSX engine should always start (have power).

Scott.

Scott,

I ran a couple of tests with the change to the aircraft.cfg and have not encountered the no thrust bug.

I tested with the MKI
Turned on all electrical systems and drained the battery by turning on the starter and leaving it on. (Mags Off)
Waited for Gauges to read 0 (AMPs and VOLTs) Lights turned off shortly afterwards
Attached the Accumulator
Ran the startup procedure (Mags on)
Engine Start - Turned on Generator and Lights came back on.
Able to Taxi -
Thrust Bug seems to be fixed with the change

I have FSUIPC Installed but only the freeware version.
Quick Question: How does the generator switch affect the Volt and AMP gauges?

I have the same problem i went in and changed the config to your specs. I went for a flight and landed and shut down the engines and went to cold start. Went out for about an hour and came back to the simulator and started the spitfire and the spit would not move. If this is any help sometimes when i go to fly the cub this situation will happen and if you go outside of the cub the wheels will turn but will not move. The system that I am running is a q6600 2.4 gigs. I hope this can shed some lite to the problem.

Now that you mention it: when it happened to us in multiplayer we took off and dawn and probably both had our cockpit lights on (I did for sure).

I just did another flight flew a circuit around Orcis and did a landing shut down went to cold start and waited for 10 minutes and restarted the spitfire and took off seems to work if you don't wait to long. I am going to try with loading the airplane and then wait a hour and see what happens.

Whilst there may still be some patches/updates from A2A on this one, I've found one way that seems to work for me.

Basically, it involves pre-loading a sensible default flight with the AirCreations Trike - using the Flight1 Safe Startup for Complex Aircraft utility: FSXSafeStartup.exe.

I jump into my Trike (on the runway) and then switch to the A2A Spitfire from the top menu.

It does seem to have helped me with my initial Spitfire loadup. So far, all lights are operational from the word go (which wasn't always the case - even using my default C172). I've yet to test what happens if you leave it parked for an hour or so.

The utility is handy for *any* aircraft that requires "behind the scenes" battery switches etc. to be set up properly.

Hey guys thought I'd share my findings. I'm a bit excited as I've just worked out the problem with my setup, hopefully it helps others.

My problem is directly related to the goflight modules I use, specifically the toggle switch that I have mapped to Engine 1 start. The A2A spit as we know has a virtual button to start the plane and I generally like to use it rather then the goflight switch. What is happening is the goflight switch is left to off and I go through the startup as normal in the virtual cockpit. I get the engine running but I have no thrust/ sound outside/ smoke from engines etc.

All the while this is happening the LED light above the goflight switch is flickering. So I thought flick it to on. Ah ha the spit suddenly comes alive. Everything now works normally.

The reason I discovered it just now was having to reinstall everything on my computer (down the Windows 7). When I begin setting flightsim up one of the things I do is set the GoFlight modules up with its assigned software. In the past I have not mapped the ignition start feature because I also get problems with the cub and B17. With the cub I could not hand start the engine. By deleting the engine start map from the goflight has cured this problem completely.

Now if what I have just said is already know then I apoligise for waffling on, hopefully it can help some people fix there problems.

Wade

Hi,

are any definitely solutions availible for the "not moving Spit"? I noticed the same problem last days while intensive testing my FSX / Spit / FSX settings.
It accured with the MkIIa and only if the engine was fired before or after a flight before. It doesn´t accure when the Spitfire is new loaded or reloaded. I never realized this problem after the initial load of the Spitfire. My standart flight i evertime load is C172 absolutely cold&dark.
Using FSUIPC, Hifisim ASE and many high quality addons.

edit: sorry, found Scott´s answer here.
