Hello all,

Since updating the core, I believe 1.3, I have noticed that now there is a "fasten seatbelts" chime in the Spitfire just after takeoff while on climb out. Sounds just like what I hear on a real airliner when riding coach! Are others experiencing this?

Are you using REX Essentials by any chance?

Yes, I am using Essentials. Is that where the cause lies?

There is a chime sound in Essentials that is active by default. I think it rings everytime there is a community update or something. Anyhow, turn off 'application sounds' in the Configuration Manager -- General panel.

Page 10 of the REX Essentials product manual explains it and shows the Configuration Manager tab where it is an option.

Hi WindWeapon

Yes REX Essential will be the cause of the chime. It does this every time the weather updates.

I think this will occur every 5 mins or so.

I will look to see if this can be switch off but will not be able to get this to you until Friday.
My laptop does not have it installed as yet.

Cheers

Dave

t's every time there is REX Edge 'community' activity -- such as someone wants to 'share a theme'...I know it is NOT when the weather updates. Some of us have the audio turned up OR wear headphones for better immersion..after a few head banging doorbell chimes from REX Essentials PLUS w/Overdrive I switched it off. Why does every app these days have some BS 'share this' share that' crapola...I am NOT interested in a weather theme by Joe Blow in Des Moines,Iowa or anywhere else. Holy macaroni... Besides I can create a better theme that I KNOW suits me..I am offended by the intrusions....I dislike the involuntary REX Edge network 'participation' too. Glad I am a 'port aware' PC user!! Oh yeah!

Happy SKIES to ALL <-- w/o any doorbells!!! How UNrealistic..what an 'immersion killer'

Yes replying to my OWN post but it just struck me. For all the realistic weather promotional hoopla by REX how in the world do doorbell chimnes at 12,000 feet or on the ramp qualify as adding to realism or FSX immersion..I'm no REX fan but it has to make one wonder why they put a doorbell chime (on by default) in a weather program that prides itself on 'realism' OH wait just a minute....maybe is is an 'HD' (Hi-Definition) doorbell chime? <- HD?? That'll run ya a lil' more mate! Oh my!!! :P <--Humor OK?

Happy SKIES to ALL
