I'm one of those hold-outs who eschew GPS in favour of more traditional navigation techniques. However, if I spend too long away from the P8, I always forget how to use it properly, so I'll file this excellent video in my flight sim Hints & Tips folder.

Good video. Always handy to know how to use the compass, for when all the satellites fall out of the sky after the apocalypse. As long as it's not geomagnetic of course.

Thanks! That is very kind of you. When I made it I really hoped it would be useful to others. The P8 is modelled so authentically here it seemed a shame not to get into how it is used.

Just by the by... for anyone who is frustrated with using this compass and finds it inaccurate, hard to use and inconveniently placed :

That sounds about right. Even in a Tiger Moth where it is much more conveniently placed, it is a bear of a thing to use.

Just one of the many things to love about this accusim spit. You can almost smell the fuel and oil, it’s that authentic!
