Tutorial For The Spit?

Post by BrizeBrit »

Thanks, Lewis.

Not quite there as yet. As I have rapidly discovered, jut like the C172, et all, this aircraft, even for a Spitfire, is not like the default FSX aircraft, of just jump in and fly. There is a lot more for me to learn and digest. Is there a tutorial how to set her up for a flight, as currently all I seem to be doing is using Ctrl+E to fire the engine up and then promptly nose-diving with the prop shattering?

If there is a link to the tutorial, please point me in that direction. Thanks.

Hi BrizeBrit,

If you have the A2A Spitfire you should have two manuals - one for the aircraft and one for the accu-sim features. Here are the direct links from the A2A Spitfire page:

This video covers some basics about the Spitfire, but is focused on the propellers. Very much worth watching - several times! :-)

All the Accusim-planes are in my hangar, but they aren't sitting long enough for their engines to cool much before next flight!

Just to add to the previous posts. You could also just search for "A2A Spitfire tutorial" on YouTube. That's gonna give you a whole bunch of videos.

It also sounds like you may have the throttle up too much when you start it. The spit will pivot about the front wheels and put the prop into the runway if no one is holding the tail down

Gentlemen

A great BIG thank you to each one of you for your kind links, tips, etc. Boy, this forum leaves the many so-called sim-related Forums a country mile behind.

I don't have the Accu-Sim Spitfire just the A2A FSX one I picked up in the recent sale.

Definitely worth the extra money to get the accusim portion....adds a whole new dimension and brings the spit to life!

I'll bear that in mind, Brett.

Lewis, the two YT links you have posted, even though they feature an Accu-Sim equipped Spit, can the content in those two videos still be seen as being relevant to a non AccuSim Spit like the one I have?

I would also definitely get the Accusim addon for the Spitfire. It adds so much more to the simulation. Careful though Accusim has been known to be addictive

I have it for all my A2A aircraft that I bought for the P3D format, not for this one in FSX-SE.
