don't know much about it - other than that it shared the same code and the pilot's name, the photo sources are not clear about the camouflage on the nose.

I did some research and found that some Spitfires in natural metal finish looked like this

Thanks for the repaints, Tom. Nice to see the Spitfire still getting new paint jobs. :)

The image of the Spitfire on it's nose is of an RAAF 85 Squadron Spitfire Vc, based at Pearce, to the north of Perth in Western Australia. I seem to recall that by 1944, they were all natural metal. Most were well worn veterans of the Darwin campaign, I think.
