Well..... This the latest... I windowed Drive C&E side by side on screen, I then dragged sp1 into FSX on e drive, clicked install which it said it did, I then started up FSX loaded a plane then shut it down, restarted pc, did exactly the same with sp2 and installed it, I watched the blue line go across the screen it then finished and said it had installed, I then restarted pc and fired up FSX, went to options and no sign of a dx10? Engine running no prop turning....

When you start FSX and the default cessna loads(or whatever default aircraft you pick)Do the following
Right click on the screen and untick hide menu bar.
Then go to options
Then settings
Then display

On the right hand side of the panel there should be the DX10 option DO NOT click on it.

This confirms you have installed SP2 correctly.

Confirm this please.Do not do anything else.

Does anyone know if the 3 blade prop should be on the MK1 Spitfire as standard? As on opening FSX and loading this model it is this prop that is fitted and does not spin in auto start? Could this also be part of my problem?

Please confirm that you have done as I have asked above.
Forget the spitfire it is the simulator we need to sort first.

I assure you the link works it was the one that Jaques posted that gave an error. The one in my post above is OK

Please do not go rushing off and trying anything else until you have installed simconnect.

Then we can proceed step by step

Also have a look at this and make notes.

This will explain why your flaps did not work and yes the three bladed prop is correct.
