Home made brake lever

Post by danb12 »

Hi all,

I have made myself a generic floor mounted joystick which is working fine, I am trying to now make a brake lever to be used for the spitfire.

I have a bike brake lever, a Potentiometer from the joystick and have wired it in, I cannot seem to get it to work very well within FSUIPC and I cannot find out why... I am not very computer technically minded so any advise would be great.

Many thanks
Dan

Hello Dan,

what about skipping FSUIPC altogether and cutting out the middle man via direct mapping in the sim?

thanks,
Lewis

Hi Lewis,

Thanks for the reply, I had tried that without any luck, will continue to try... It registers, but only operates the 2nd half of the brake levers action so the brakes are alays on a bit...

Thanks again,

Dan

Also given the nature of this it might be worth asking some hardware builders too, this site has been pointed out to me a few times from some cockpit builders;

No problem, let us know how it goes and feel free to share pics your homemade kit on here. I know I'd quite like to see what you have come up with.

Cheers,
Lewis

Hi Lewis,

If you are interested, I will try and get some pics of it on here, not the finest piece of hardware ever made but does the job quite nicely...

One question though, how do I get pictures on here as I do not have an account with an online picture hosting website?!

Thanks
Dan

Hey Dan,

you will want to grab one of the free accounts on an image hosting place like you mentioned or use one of the popular cloud storage solutions like dropbox etc.

thanks,
Lewis
