I've seen a couple photo recon skins for the RealAir late-model Spitfires but the first of those spy planes were Mk I's. The PR Type A would probably be the easiest to get right as it had the most modest of modifications; the only real visual difference from the standard models were two downward-facing cameras, one in either wing mounted where the inner-most guns would be, as well as the deletion of the gun ports. Granted it would require tweaking the bump maps and modifying the reflections for the lenses but would it not be awesome to see an Accusim spy plane? As far as performance goes, the recon planes were 10-15 mph faster because they were lighter and slipperier (panel gaps were also filled in where possible), but that can't really be tweaked in a repaint, can it?
(The PR Type A's were painted a very pale blue-green called Camotint)

In hand mate,
I have actually commissioned and paid for several Photo Recce aircraft. ,
In addition to what you have said, the canopy is different too. The speed can largely be handle with adjustmenst to your payload. etc.
My cockpit is a PR, so I've done a lot of fiddling with this.
Will PM you
Darryl

Wow, sweet! I was aware of the canopy (much like on the prototype spit) but I thought that was only on the post-Type A's. Either way, though, it'll be cool. Particularly given the recent thread about why we can't have working MG's in the wings...

When the Mk V is released, I will also be getting a PR G done, at the very least,

I always thought that was like an eggshell blue, not green lol I'm sure I'm a bit colour blind.
Love this link, I'm hoping for a recon paint like this.

Like this one aswell. I know the mark is different but a beauty all the same.

Maybe I'll have fire up Photoshop and do one if I get the time.

Dear goodness me that is absolutely stunning! That would be a fantastic paint! Is anybody up for the challenge?r4y30n wrote:

Yes I've gotten that package too. Of those I like the pink one a lot, it sure is quirky enough and has some historical accuracy to it.
But neither look as good as this light blue-green colour IMO. It could be that it reminds me of the Spitfire prototype colour (or what most seem to think it looked like). Also the fact that it's the "first spitfire spyplane". So I'd still love this one in my hangar too.

Fantastic mate, you're ace!
Found another source for some details on her: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/lofi ... 26356.html
Could you make this one quite clean looking? Apparently "They also filled the panel lines with plaster of paris and polished the aircraft to a high sheen."
The cameras had 5 inch lenses so they're not exactly huge. Each camera is "fitted into the inboard ammunition bay, between the two inboard MG bays, with the camera motor in the outer gun bay. There is a hole cut in the lower wing, which is glazed."
Also, will making the red tape over the gunports the same color as the fuselage be difficult?

Re: Repaint request: A PR Type A, the first recon spit!
Well what he was saying is that it should be shiny, perhaps exceptionally so...
Re: Repaint request: A PR Type A, the first recon spit!
Well not overly shiny I think, they just polished it to make the surface as slippery as possible at create as little drag as possible, not to make it look glossy. That would in fact make it easier to see, reflections and all. So I wouldn't over-do it. I'm thinking about as glossy as the default skins perhaps + a little, and fewer scratches?
Nathan - you're a one man army mate - if only the brits back in 1940 were churning out spitfires as fast as you are!
