I have been attempting to fly my new/rebuilt/repaired/rebuilt Spitfire. after 3 engine fires resulting in off airport crashes. I lost count on repairs due to overheating, hard landings. And trying to fly the aeroplane with the mixture and prop axis in the wrong place.
So my question is, would a maintenance log with the number of crashes, main bearings, landing gear ect that have been repaired and easy thing to add to the maint hanger? I am wondering if i knew that i had replaced 23 main bearings in 23 hours of flight time add to the realism level?
would a maint log be a good thing?
Re: would a maint log be a good thing?
I think it would be a neat addition to the whole "hangar" concept.
As long as they don't mail us the bill...

I have been flying her pretty much the last few days, but have only change four cylinders and repair the cooling system ones.
Try to reinstall it if you think that she brakes apart more than you brake her.

Hello S.Alva,
I am pretty sure it's pilot error
I started flying with out reading the manual.
Mixture and Prop Axis are in different positions than the P47.
Thanks for your help.

Re: would a maint log be a good thing?
Last night I was flying at an altitude of 20000feet from Manston to Interlaken, but over Chaumont (france) I noticed that my oilpressure suddenly dropped and the radiator temperature was increasing fast, so I started to descend. But wen I reached 10000 feet my engine was dead and I had to glide her to nearest airfield and make a emergency landing. I lowered the landing gears and managed to land her with only some few injuries. So now I had to repair the main bearings, an major oilleak, the radiator and a major coolant leak.
Must keep an eye on that oilpressure...
When you learn how to fly your accu-simed airplane you will never fly anything else... I love Accu-sim...

Stefan,
Sounds like you may have had a random failure (I am supposing that you were within limits) ...it can happen. Great experience though.
cheers
