HSSSSS.....

Post by CODY614 »

O-kay...I know I'm not hearing things...did you guys model an air leak in the cockpit?
Seems to be coming from the "Right Side" of the cockpit?

Yup... keep the radiator temperature below 120° (green gauge on the right) . Also make sure that you set the propeller to fine pitch, if applicable. It's on coarse by default (Cold Start setting).

Yep I got it too the first time I flew the MK I, it's the Radiator temps, and I even had steam coming out the engine  I don't think it likes going slow, it needs the speed to ram air through the rad. I must fly faster

Only the first time you flew the Mk Ia? I get it every time I fly the Mk Ia, IIa & IIb! It just keeps sneaking up on me, especially if something manages to take my attention away from managing it for a bit too long!

Absolutely awesome! Well done A2A Team.

So far I have only got it after landing and taxiing back to my spot. Even had steam coming from the right side. Very well simulated A2A.. now I've seen it I aim to not see it anymore!

On the landing run get the flaps UP out of the airflow as soon as you are running straight and easy. Get teh radiator shutter OPEN as well.

These two things will help significantly. Sometimes you just CAN'T avoid overheat under certain conditions. AR213 still suffers occasionally from this.

I guess I may have been hard on her...the hangar boys had me fix a "Vacum Pump?"
Could that be why she was hissing at me?

Bye the bye....I got the white smoke/steam thing also from the right side stacks....I'll betcha the A2A boys are laughing at us for blowing up their new pride and joy!

Man these things are fun!

Jeff,

Glad you are enjoying it. She is quite hard to fly "well". Easy on the throttle settings, keep her as cool as possible and constantly monitor the temps and pressures!

You'll get thye hang of her soon enough. ...or run out of money***G***
