I'm completely talentless in the area of repainting but always appreciate the hard work that goes into them from the community and professionals alike. Thanks to all at A2A for making the paint kits so readily available.

Martin made it a priority to have this ready early, and Lewis really pushed us hard on getting this out. His last message to me yesterday was a subtle reminder along the lines of:

well, I checked it out, and it's HUGE!

If my computer manages to open the main file (250Mb!), you can count on paints from me....all I need now is something to paint....

How's about this man's plane Douglas Bader
just some info

Before he took up the appointment, Bader carelessly took off with his section with his Spitfire's propeller set to coarse pitch (used for low rpm cruise) instead of fine pitch that gave high rpm for takeoff power, and he crashed. Bader was uninjured, except for bent legs and a badly dented ego. Shocked by his stupidity, Bader freely admitted his mistake to 12 Group's commander, Air Vice Marshal Trafford Leigh Mallory, who saw it as a one-time mistake and did not cancel Bader's appointment to 222 Squadron as flight commander, or his promotion to flight lieutenant.

^^ a Douglas Bader repaint would be fantastic, a 242 Squadron one. Many years ago in IL-2 I flew with 242 (Virtual) Squadron which Lewis was also a part of, so a good 242 skin would be probably the only one I use. :D

Wait one....242 Squadron didn't re-equip with Spitfires till well after the Battle of Britain...April '42 according to Wikipedia. First Spitfire mark they flew was the Mk Vb as well.

That, to my mind makes Bader a poor choice for the subject of a repaint aimed at the Mk I/II...
