Hey folks
Darryl requested a semi fictional repaint based on a prewar prototype hurricane scheme.

After the shiny USAAC scheme, I did sort of a happy medium between the light and dark shines. Those who still want ultra super shiny can just copy over the fresnel from the USAAC scheme.

Enjoy.

lol glad you like it. :)

I didn't include a super shiny, but all you have to do is copy the fresnel3.dds from the USAAC scheme to this one and you will have super shiny 8)

Just in case anyone is interested..

"semi" fictional because K9787 was the second Spit built and the first "production" aircraft. She was used for extensive testing and bug fixing/improving and was thus sort of used as a "prototype" in many ways. She was painted in normal camo from the start (as far as I can find) but could have, in theory, had the plain silver finish applied had things turned out differently.

Great job TJ..I'll get some nice screenies shortly.

Haha yeah, judging from the downloads, I would say a few others have a shine fetish too
I have resisted the urge to shine up Tejanahawk alot....mostly because it would require a $#@%load of work.

Glad you are enjoying the paint Darryl :)

After a little update to Thunder Horse, I will probably take a little break from painting to get some good flying in. Thunder Horse is raring to go on a world cruise. 8)

Am not sure I get the logic. From that point of view a Spitfire with a second engine and a top turret would qualify as "semi-fictional" had things "turned out differently."

Anyway, each to their own -- I like shiny, but with such an authentic model an authentic livery is the only one I'm comfortable with.

K5054 was a bare metal prototype (at one point, anyhow), so this isn't too far off for semi-fictitious work.
