Installing on another PC - can I copy my settings?

Post by Chairman7w »

Hi Guys,

I (finally) got my new kick-ass flight simming PC I've always wanted (no more 15 frames per second!!) and was wondering if there's a way to transfer all my A2A aircraft accusim details from my old PC to this one.

So my hours flown, etc for each plane is maintained.

Please advise - thanks in advance!

The .dat files are located in your Documents\A2A\FSX\ folder. You can cooy each specific aircrafts folder over to your new computer, or just copy the .dat folder for each aircraft after you have allowed the new specific aircraft folders to be created on your new computer.

Hhmmmmmm, well, that's weird. I found the files on my old PC, exactly where you said they'd be.

But there's no similar directory on the new PC. I have installed only my Piper J3 so far, but in my new PC's Document's folder, there's no A2A directory to copy over those data files. :-(

I don't own the J-3, but it might be located in your main FSX directory: i.e. program files (x86)\microsoft games\microsoft flight simulator...

You need to install your other aircraft for their folders to populate.

Many flightsim add-ons do not create required directories until the first time you actually utilize the add-on in FSX. Try hopping on to your sim, booting up the aircraft (maybe even fly it a little!) and then quit out of the sim and check for the needed folders again.

If things happen how I think they will, you'll end up with the required folder and a new .dat file which you can delete or rename to make room for your old one.

Good luck!
