I bought the Cub for my Steam Edition install and love it, except for one thing. Whenever there's any sort of wind, the creaking and groaning never stops. I have to turn down all the accu-sim sounds to next to nothing or it slowly drives me insane. As soon as I close Active Sky Next to clear the weather it stops.

I also have AccuFeel installed and changing anything in there doesn't alter the creaking sounds.

what sort of wind are you flying in, it sounds like if theirs a lot of creaking (there will be a fair amount in bad weather as that's how it is) then you might be flying in un suitable conditions?

15kts wind, but steady. It's being generated by ActiveSky Next so it's not a 100% constant wind, theres minor fluctuations.

A 15kt wind in a J-3 is very strong and it will make quite a racket in the cockpit! I've seen a J-3 lifted right off the ground in gusty conditions at about that speed. It only was held in place with chocks and I swear the pilot broke the speed of sound to reach his airplane and re-secure it.

Heh. I'll keep that in mind. I usually fly GA aircraft in FSX but the J3 is by far the smallest thing I've bothered with.
