Map airplane icon.

Post by wvernonc »

I really would like to see an airplane icon on the provided map. Is there anyone that can add this?

I think the idea was that the map is provided and meant to be used just as a map would be used in the real cub. In other words, you need to maintain an awareness of where you are in the world and using landmarks and instruments in the cockpit you navigate to where you want to go. I mean, you ares till in the center of the map when you bring it up, but you don't know exactly where you are in the center of the map. This can be a very satisfying exercise if you apply yourself! I will add another dimension to your flying and it can be quite fun!

Scott mentioned some time back that there is no plan to add an airplane icon to the center of the map for any A2A plane.

If you really need to have that, create a flight plan within FSX and use the map provided by FSX.

Maybe someone has tweaked the A2A map, but I've never heard of that being done.

I found a map update for the 172 on another site where this was added along with other upgrades. I was just hoping someone here knew how to add to the Cub map. I find this map to be less detailed than I would like. GREAT plane though!

Sorry I can't help you on that one! If it has been added to the 172 map, I can only assume that it can be added to the Cub map, as well. :)

The shadowing is most helpful. May think about that for an upgrade. I do like to fly this as simple as I can, but the shadowing helps plot my course better.
