Manual startup glitch

Post by René Artois »

Hi all,

Excited to use my brand new J3 w/ accusim, however, there seems to be a technical annoyance starting it.

Every time I try to manually start the cub (following all the instructions in the manual) I hear the engine going on and off. When pressing shift+3, I notice that 3 items are flashing: the "Tie Down OFF", "Lock Controls OFF", and the towing feature.

As well as this, I am hearing random clicking noises (like in Windows when you click to open a folder) I am not sure if this is to do with the cub or something else (REX loading weather into FSX?)

FYI, when I press autostart, there is no such issue...

Pls advise what to do :)

Hello,

have you made sure the locks and tie downs are turned off before trying to start up?

Hi Lewis,

Yes, they were- but I managed to discover the source of the problem:

I have a fuel tank selector mapped, and it was on OFF. All I had to do was return it back to BOTH, and the startup was fine.

Sorry, this has NOTHING to do with the topic, but I love your user name! I'm now thinking I need to rediscover The Fallen Madonna With The Big B**bies, a couple of British airmen, Herr Gruber's little tank, and the rest of the craziness that made one of the best comedies of the 1980's!
