Will anybody please tell me what NAS means as part of airport names?

If in the US I believe it stands for Naval Air Station. To which airport(s) do you refer?

For instance KNQX - Key West NAS.

Yep NAS stands for Naval Air Station. And KNQX is NAS Key West.
