Leading the horse to water!

Post by G-BJPS »

Hi all, i want to do some sight seeing around wales, and land/take off from some of the lakes.
So in America you have floatplane docks, but not in England, so how would i get her to water lol :roll: :?: just a case of leaving my home base with tundras on then landing next to a lake and switching to the float model?
Cheers all, John.

Hello John,

You will have to have a bit of a google for some additions via third parties. Here's a link to get you going;

Hey Lewis I tried what I said above lol!

So I flew to Belvide reservoir near me and fortunately there was a nice straight flat field next to it.

Landed and taxied to waters edge lol

Swapped planes, bit of paddling and success!

I flew a circuit of the Reservoir and made a nice splash down! Bit more paddling, swapped planes again.....now to get out of here! Bit of power to get up the bank lol!

Here is that convenient long flat field ahead!

Sorted! That's one lake to fly the Float version from! And only 5miles from EGBO, with it's own improvised grass strip lol 8) :D

Next up, a pond skipping adventure from that Reservoir, and see how far around the UK I can get landing only on water!

John.

You could use ADE to add some new airports in to places like that. Its free program and easy to use, great support with it too.

thanks,
Lewis
