Yes, absolute fun with such a delightful Cub, no question !
But, my question is: Why do we have to get this dusty, darkish, cloud on touch down at 10,000ft in full snow/ice condition ? I suspect this is more of an FSX issue and that the coding does not differentiate between snow and ground, am I right ?
But, is there any way one could change at least the
colour of this dust from dark to white (snow) particles ? By my own experience in the French Alpes (altiport and glaciers) snow landings do not generate anything, except perhaps in very powdery conditions, but still very little.
In general, I find (with all planes - so again an FSX pb here) that we are getting too much dust/dirt effect on touch down.
So, I wonder if anyone know how to
decrease or tweak this spoiling effect ?
Thanks !!
EDIT NOTE: Further to this post, I have experimented first by removing any reference to "dirt" in the [effects] section of the aircraft.cfg for the Cub with skis, and the touchdown now shows only white (snowy) particles floating around the plane. Much more realistic, methinks. So no need to tweak anymore. A fluke ? Possibly !!
