Great source of knowledge. Now I know I will need 50000 dollars for a fresh restaurated Cub. Quite achievable, can that be true?

No. The market for a nice restored Cub is about $35,000. But, there's no reason to buy that pristine an airplane. Just get a decent flying one that you can have fun with. Those go for around $25-30,000.

I bought mine for $24k about 1.6 years ago.

Edit: oops, I see you're in Germany. I'm sure they cost way more over there.

So I would have to buy it in the US and then fly it back home...

Das ist eine gute Idee, dann können wir uns gegenseitig wach halten, so ohne Strom in der Cub wird es nämlich nachts mächtig dunkel sein... Du bist doch fit in Sternennavigation, oder?

Very good idea, so we will be able to take care of each other to stay awake, without any electricity in the Cub it will be quite dark at night... I bet you are used to astro navigation, aren`t you?
