Yup, now your going to have the new generation of simmers using your repaints too.

"And you would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for those damn nosey kids!" Hehe sorry watching scooby doo with my boy as I write this.

Red face time. I've just gone through all 22 pages of paints and discovered Rob Newman's G-AKTH. I don't know how I missed it. Sorry Rob, I really didn't mean to step on your toes. :(

Please don't tell me this one has already been done!

Built in 1944, HB-OFW lives in Biel-Kappelen (LSZP) Switzerland, a nice little grass strip near Bern.

My inner history geek is having a complete hissy fit at me for doing this, but I wanted a "Hack" RAF aircraft, so did it anyway!

DP852 was a Piper J-4B Cub Coupe - the side-by-side version of the Cub, as oppose to the fore-and-aft J-3 represented here - registered G-AFXT and impressed into service in 1941. It was still there, apparently still wearing green and brown, following Operation Overlord in 1944, after which it operated to, from and around Normandy, now sporting go-faster invasion stripes. It is not recorded whether the stripes actually made it go faster, but it's highly unlikely that they did. It is, after all, still a Piper Cub and was really a tubby-Cub, as well!

The paint scheme recreated here is based on a drawing off the internet and therefore there's actually next to nothing right with it, other than the colours. The scheme is neither a Type A nor a Type B pattern, it has a mismatch of insignia and just don't ask what the pilot is wearing. He's as unhappy about it as I am, I think. Brass buttons digging into the left shoulderblade make for a very uncomfortable bit of UV mapping! It is, however, the best I can do right now. If you don't like it, don't use it! Deleting or renaming "pilot_us.dds" from the folder will give you the default modern 'lumberjack' pilot back. :)

Well, it's a couple of days late, but here it is - my entry into the Piper Cub repaints. As you can see, it's a no-frills classic L4 Grasshopper scheme.
