A2A Piper Cub & Fuel Mixture Control

Post by rlink »

I noticed that the A2A Piper Cub has no mixtire control, and the button switch on my joystick that I have mapped for mixture doesn't seem to do anything. Does the real Cub not have a mixture control? If so, how does the engine control the fuel/air mixture in the real J-3 Cub? Just curious...

The A65 has no direct mixture control in the cockpit. The engine supplies best engine power at sea level, and most pilots tend to keep it under a few thousand feet altitude. The original Cub's shipped with no mixture controls. I'm pretty sure some modifications later on, and with different engines naturally, added these, but the standard Continental in the Cub does not have one.
