Reset the Cub

Post by flaviossa »

Hello people! Nice work!
I´m enjoying every minute with it! But i have one question:
With the package accusim, is there a way to "reset" the aircraft? I´m not asking about the "overhaul" function. I´m asking about a complete reset of the aircraft, like reseting the airframe hours to 0 again.
I´m asking this because i´m learning to fly it and making some mistakes with it, and don´t want to trash my plane before i can start to enjoy it at the right way.

Thanks!

Go into the A2A directory in FSX (default is :- Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\A2A\PiperJ3) and delete the following files J3log.dat, J3Tlog.dat, J3Flog.dat & J3Slog.dat and that will reset them all to 0 hours for frame and engine. You will have one file for each of the four variants. J3, J3Tundra,J3 Ski and J3Float.

Hope this helps.

I don't believe that the airframe hours are of any consequence. And resetting the engine equals an overhaul. Correct me if I'm wrong. ;)

I don't think it really matters much either. I just know that deleting those file resets the whole plane (engine and air frame) to 0. That's was the question asked. I answered. :D

To each his/her own I say.

To be honest flaviossa. I backup the files in a zip file, then delete them (not the zip file of course) and go crazy with the Cub. Then when I want to go back and be sensible I unzip the originals back in there as if nothing happened. I've broken the Cub a few times just messing with it (finding the boundaries) but it doesn't show in the log files.

@ Jigsaw. I wasn't having a go at you and I'm sorry if it sounded like I was.
