Assigning Joystic buttons to specific controls

I have found a method to assign joystick buttons to controls within the cockpit that can normally only be operated with the mouse. The P51 only has a few.

First for an explanation on how this works see this thread in the P47 Accusim section, its long so thats why im not repeating it!

For the P51 use the Macros below and create a file as per the P47 explanation. Call it 4P51D.MCRO

The 4 will mean that these controls are near the front of the list ( I have used 1-3 for other planes).

[MACROS]
1=L:DropTank1Switch=SET
2=L:DropTank2Switch=SET
3=L:OilDilute1=SET
4=L:SwitchPrimer1=SET
5=L:GunSightSwitchOn=SET
6=L:CabinVent=SET
7=L:EmergencyGearLever=SET
8=L:ArmRest1=SET

Most of the controls have parameters of 0 and 1. Cabin vent is 0-100 and the two drop tank switch commands are 0,1,2

Enjoy!

Hi,
Quick question. Should one of the DropTank lines be DropTank1Switch=SET instead of both being DropTank2Switch?

Nige

Yes, probably a typo from me when cutting and pasting, Sorry!

Have edited the post now and it reads correct.

I have written an explanation on how to create your own macro files for any aircraft or amend this one.

Thank you Mate (Aussie FRIEND), you have made my day - The Starter switch on the P-51 was driving me crazy.
