Wings of POWER P51D (Solo / WWII Fighters) FSX Update
We are just finishing up our FSX Fix for our original Wings of POWER P51 mustang. This P51 was our very first Wings of POWER plane which was made for Flight Simulator 2004, and it just looks great in today’s Microsoft FSX colors. I have just been flying this around for hours and decided to make a little promo video before we release the patch.

This aircraft just flies so well and sounds authentic as we flew and recorded a Merlin powered P51 Mustang during development. There is also no denying that this P51 is one of the most beautiful aircraft ever created. Looking at it from below, the wings just remind me of a bird of prey.

Also, do not confuse it with the very high end Wings of POWER 3: P51 Mustang currently in development. We will keep our community up-to-date, as we continue to develop the new Mustang and its Accu-Sim technology. In the meantime, for those who are flying this aircraft today, enjoy this update. It’s just a wonderful aircraft to experience

I'm confused a bit. I own the FSX P51-D Solo version of your Mustang. Is this patch you speak of for that aircraft, or for the FS9 mustang to convert it to FSX?

If it is for the FSX Solo aircraft, where the patch?

Also, per Scott's original post, he's presenting the video before the patch's release; So the patch will be forthcoming.

Thanks, I read his post and it gave me the impression that the patch was gonna follow shortly... My fault for being too anxious.

Just one small request for the acusimmed Mustang. If it's possible and not too big of a deal, could you guys think about representing a P-51 that is a modern experimental privately owned aircraft, such as one we might see at the local airport owned by some rich guy. Including modern avionics, with a model of a pilot wearing a present day flight helmet may be the only two changes needed.

yeah, i quite agree. i love a2a aircraft, but it would give a definate sense of realism if you could have a restored version. I was down at duxford last weekend and got buzzed by the P-51 Ferocious Frankie, howling by........Inside it's cockpit it has no gunsight and a modern GPS system at the top on Control panel....Here is an insight into a modern P-51's cockpit ....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwEy4x88d0Y

one question though,will the skin textures for the old model fit the new one?

We kept the mapping the same so old skins will work. I think the alpha channel will need to be adjusted on old skins though, but this should not be a big thing.

That looks amazing. Can i just clarify one point... is that the original model output in FSX native form or is it the new mesh that you showed us some development pictures of a while back?
