Switches without sound?

Post by francesco.doenz »

I do not have anymore the clicking sound of the diverse switches in the virtual cockpit, I hear the canopy opening and closing and outside sounds, but no switches clicking anymore?
Running P3D version 3.1.
No problems with the spitfire!
Thanks in advance for your help!

The first question is, do you have AccuSim for the P-47 installed? Many of the switches are silent without AccuSim.

It cannot be guaranteed to work with P3D as its an FSX product but make sure you are an Accu-sim user and are all updated would help.

thanks,

I had this problem with my P-47 too. I had no sound on the oil cooler and turbo intercooler flap switches.

My solution was to copy each P-47 to a dummy folder, as I have some repaints installed, then uninstall the P-47 and it's Accusim component. Next, I re-installed the plane and Accusim, copied over my backed up planes from that dummy folder, then run the latest A2A updater. Worked like a charm. All this assumes, of course, that you have previously had switch sounds in your sim.

Cheers,
Mike

First of all sorry about my long absence, have been wrestling with the joystick microsoft force and FSUIPC, and for some obscure reason I do not get the notifications any more for the replys....
Yes, Accusim is installed, but yesterday evening I noticed that the P47 is not the only one of the aircrafts without cockpit sound, the cub has the same problem, real air aircrafts also, stock F22 also, but alabeo working!
So the root of the problem is deeper and not restricted to a particular brand of aircraft! But was is the common root to all these non working cockpits of differend brands? Interesting, will also post on the LM forum!

I have to apologize to everybody for having taken time with this post...yesterday night I decided to uninstall and reinstall the P-47, so I opened the windows uninstaller and could not believe what I found : wop2_p47_fsx_fsx.zip! I do not know where I got this old zipfile, I replaced it with the wop3 and all sounds in the cockpit are back!
Sorry again...

But it is such a relief, though, to realize that everything is okay after all. And, it is still a worthy exercise in troubleshooting a potential problem!

Yes, troubleshooting has to be part of the hobby, if not you get irritated and frustrated not being able to fly hundert percent of the time you spend in front of your monitor!

I am flying 99% of the time the Spit, P-47 and Mustang, I do nont really know the other aircrafts and just checked the switches of them when I was already dead tired late in the night, so I suspect that I did not look right how to start the engines!
I guess it must also have been late in the night that I unzipped the old wop2 file...
Anyway thanks once more for your great aircrafts and looking forward to the F-104....already training with the J79 engine on the Phantom to be ready for your Starfighter!
