A tour of ORBX land...

Post by Chunk »

I've been inspired by G-BJPS and Medtner, and wanted to rack up the hours in the Jug...so I'm going to start an "ORBX Tour." I'll eventually end up at KJAC, but this flight took me from Livermore to Lake Tahoe. I'm going to make a horseshoe flight path that should take me through all of the U.S. regions that ORBX has done so far. If this first flight is any indication, I'll probably take advantage of their December sale as well. I need the Lake Tahoe scenery after seeing these shots in comparison to what ORBX has done to the place. The next flight will take me from Tahoe to Redding. Probably going to want that airport, too!

There's the unbelievably beautiful lake!

I won't lie, I've made better approaches...

Great idea for your hour building on the bird and also a good adventure to tour ORBX scenery. I look forward to following the adventure

Great idea. Think I might copy you  I've just reinstalled my P-47, too. Not an easy plane to land, but I find a high approach/low power works best, with the speed around 140 to 150kn.

Cheers,
Mike

I went ahead and took advantage of the ORBX sale, and picked up Lake Tahoe, Redding, Monterey, and Squamish...so...

Hey Chunk, I think you just inspired me to knock the dust off my old P-47 and fly in my ORBX scenery. I have all the ORBX regions from Northern California all the way north to Southern Alaska, to include the Central and Northern Rockies. I also have tons of airports for all my regions. Your screen shots are absolutely beautiful!

Keep the shiny side up and the dirty side down!

If you don't mind Chunk, I'll nick a bit of your thread.

There follows a screenshot that is not for the faint hearted! We were in an online flight with four B-17s three Jugs a Bearcat and a Corsair. When this little C337 turned up in his wannabe military uniform. Well, did HE get a surprise?!

Take care, Brett
