P-47 accusim problems

Post by JamieKugelmann »

Hi everyone,

My friend recently purchased some A2A aircraft with accusim as a present for me. Included was the wonderful A2A P-47.
The accusim is working OK in the game, but it doesn't seem to save the settings?
So there is no P-47 accusim save in my documents\a2a\fsx folder. I am running windows 7 64 bit. Every other accusim aircraft works fine for me and saves.
Whenever I start a new flight, the settings are erased (like new aircraft again)
Thanks for any help.

Hello Jamie,

when you installed did you right click the installer and select run as admin?

Also once you have installed as administrator make sure you grab the update from here;

Hi Lewis,

No, I didn't install it as administrator. I thought that would be the case, as it wouldn't have the correct permissions for the Accusim engine to write it necessary files.
Should I re run all my other aircraft as administrator? or will they be fine?

Thanks for that. Do I run those updates as admin also?

[EDIT]: Just checked the setup files on my computer, they seem to be already set to run as admin??

Hello,

You will want to right click and select run as administrator for the P-47 installer. I wouldn't bother for the others if they are working correctly.

thanks,

Hi,

Got a chance to completely remove the aircraft and re run all the setups for the P-47D as admin.
The accusim file is still not saving.

Hello Jamie,

next thing to try would be to delete the dat file under your my documents >> A2A. Delete the P47 dat file and a new one will be generated wen you next start FSX.

Lewis,

The thing is that there is no P47 .dat file created. All the other planes' accusim files show up in C:\Users\Jamie Kugelmann\Documents\A2A\FSX
Very strange..

I'm not at my desktop at the moment so cannot check the location I might have gotten it wrong for the P-47. Ill check later when I get in the office

Also just a check that you updated to the latest version;

Also sometimes a system requires a restart for a a correct installation, this seems windows system specific but its worth a try in these situations.

thanks

Alright thanks.
I updated to the 1.1 then 1.11 hotfix too and rebooted with no luck. I think I remember seeing someone else with the same problem, it was something to do with the permissions of the files...

Run the programs as admin, right click the P-47 /P-47Accu-sim along with the updates. Showld say something towards the bottom once right clicked on any of the programs, "Run as administrator" with a symbol of a blue and yellow shield. I have windows 7, I don't know what program your computer is running but hope this helps. Also after the flight, save the game with the switches ect . where you want them, reload FSX and see what happened's.

I have just noticed the very same thing !!
I've got all of the other planes folders (B17, Feel, P40, P51, PiperJ3, Sptifire), but both the P47 and B377 don't have any folder...

EDIT: it seems the Accusim .DAT files for the P47 and the B377 are in the A2A folder that can be found in the FSX installation folder :)

Cheers Daube!

I'll have a check today to see if its saving into there. Last time my airframe and engine hours would reset with a new flight.
I'll let you know.

I know this thread is a couple of years old, but I'm having the same issue that has been reported here. If you follow the conversation, I have done everything listed, i.e. reinstalled P-47 as administrator. I have also run the most recent update.

When I save in FSX, P-47 starts over pretty much as a new aircraft.

I found the DAT file in the A2A folder of Microsoft FSX. Is there something I need to do with this to make the P-47 save correctly?

Thanks for the help.
