Hello,

I hope I'm in the right place.

I just got a fresh install of FSX + P47(Accusim) + Piper Cub (Accusim). Everything works fine except the TBO : It always resets when I start a flight. No problem during the flight, time is added correctly and if I misused the plane damaged are noticed.
Any ideas what might be the cause ?

Thanks,
Matt

TBO=Time Between Overhaul?

Is this occurring with both aircraft or just the P-47?

Thanks for your answer!

Yes 'Time Between Overhaul' : It's always a fresh engine.

Only the P47. I bought the P51 (accusim too) yesterday and no problem.
I tried uninstall everything (A2A aircrafts) et re-install it ... Well it kind of change the problem 8) but only again on the P47.
Now when I start a flight with the P47, she crashed everytime (no gear).

I tried with or without an admin account and I'm running Vista 32bit ... If it can help in any ways.

There are actually three P-47s (the individual repaints don't count). If one is always either starting as damaged or resetting the engine hours, what are the other two variants doing? Each variant (ie, D-20, -22, -23) has its own persistant wear and damage record. One variant could be giving you problems while the other two might be 'factory fresh' and ready for action.

The problem with 'no gear' on start-up might be resolved by first loading a default aircraft and then loading the P-47 at the same airport. If that works, you might as well do a complete overhaul to reset the hydraulic and engine systems. If it doesn't, you may have to delete some .dat files and force FSX to build you some brand-new ones.

Yes Skycats pretty much got this one covered.

I cant quite remember however if TBO is saved with the P-47 though as some items where not on the earlier accu-sim aircraft. Ill have to look into it

Yep sorry! Not between, but since overhaul !

I found another topic which seems the same problem (viewtopic.php?f=50&t=23080)

So, I checked with the four airplane (D-20, -22, -23 & Mk1) : Same problem.

I look for some .dat file and ... nothing ?! :shock: No P47*.dat at all (even in hidden files).

Well I already look for some P51*.dat file and I don't have any either !

edit : I really pushed my poor P47 on sea level full throttle & full turbo. The maintenance center said 'must overhaul' but no problem at all, the engine didn't stop ? Seems like Accusim isn't enable on this plane ?

An easy check to see if Accu-Sim is installed and working is to operate the switches in the cockpit. Accu-Sim adds clicking sounds to the various switches, and I think adds sounds for the intercooler and oil cooler door motors. I also think squealing brakes sounds are also added.

I honestly don't remember what Accu-Sim adds to the base model. Hypoxia, probably; you could try flying to 15,000 or 20,000 feet without the oxygen mask and see what happens. :mrgreen:

Yeah after trying to kill the machine, I'll try to kill the pilot ! :twisted:
But it should be enable, at least a part of it, I think about that just now : I start the aircraft with the energizer --> Accu-sim ! And yes, intercooler &Co. sounds are there.
Moreover, the 'Accusim On' is on the general panel (shift-2)

But about the .Dat files, what am I missing ? I don't have any even for the other planes ?

Thanks for your time ... :|

Make sure that your file explorer is setup to show hidden files and folders.

Look into:
\..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\A2A\

There You should find:
P47D20log.dat
P47D22log.dat
P47D23log.dat

Try to dele those.

Everything is visible : Even system files

Under
'Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\A2A\P47'
--> Sound (Dir)
--> Tools (Dir)
And the Pdf Manuals (One for P47 & one for P47 Accu-Sim)

That's all.

Yep, that's where the .dat files should be. It seems like your machine isn't creating them/saving them when you fly, or else they are somehow getting deleted.

Your dat.files are under C:\Users\your name\Documents\A2A\FSX\
and the Accu-feel is C:\Users\your name\Documents\A2A\

I don't have any P-47 files there, just folders for the Spitfire, P-51 and B-17. (I don't have P-40, Piper Cub or Stratocruiser installed.)

One thing I'm noticing as I look back at the Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator X\A2A folder is that the P-47's log files are in a different kind of file format than the log files for my B-17, Spitfire and P-51. The Thunderbolt's are DAT files while all the other log files are Text Documents. Might this be a clue?

Try reinstalling the P-47 and making sure you right click and choose to 'run as administrator' if running windows 7 64bit. It sounds like they are not being generated/saved. This is normally a system permissions error.

thanks,
Lewis
