Two things I noticed during yesterdays flight; my starter switch doesn't work at all, in either position. It seems like there is something winding up as soon as I turn the battery on. Could that be the centrifugal starter? But even so, it won't engage the engine unless I actually press the starter keystroke on the keyboard. There was nothing in the configuator that would help. In fact, the only thing the configurator accomplished was allowing me to assign the turbo control to a joystick axis, which was very helpful.
Also, for some reason the throttle in the P-47 advances way to fast compared to my throttle quadrant. I recalibrated twice but it didn't help. None of the other planes are that way. Now that being said, the plane seemed to behave according to the position of my throttle, not the one in the plane. I.e. as I gained altitude, I had to continually advance the throttle to keep MP up and the MP responded to my throttle until it was firewalled and then I had to engage the turbo. The throttle in the plane seemed to firewall long before that.

I'm not sure from your question if your problem with the starter is caused by a technical glitch or if you are just unfamiliar with how to use it. I suggest looking at video #2 here:

It demonstrates the inertia starter very clearly.
