I have almost finished a repaint of the FS2004 B29 for FSX. Included wil be adjusted metallic surfaces and visible bomb bay doors. As the model is not FSX native, bump and specular maps/texture were not possible.

Now the alpha channel is used for the metallic shine but seems to be too much on the surface (mirror) of the textures. The alpha colour is already toned down (almost white for FSX) to minimize the effect.

I came across the MDLMAT program that should be able to change or introduce specular shine on the mdl level. So far I made a naked (no textures thus fully black with no reflections at all) model, but whatever I do, no shine appears!

So my question: is it at all possible to give specular shine to the B29 model (mdl file), and how should this be done?

Please help....

Paul
