TAKEOFF TRIM - SET. Set to what?

Post by BraselC5048 »

One omission in both all A2A provided documents, and all real-world documents I've been able to find (I posted them somewhere on this forum, I 'think' in a stickyed thread, after the previous download link failed), is that while the checklists call for setting the takeoff trim, nowhere does it actually say what to set the takeoff trim to. I've mostly been using 0 degrees, which seems to work, but what's the correct takeoff trim setting?

it is depending on the weight and balance of the aircraft, so the correct setting is what's working for you :D

Big dot next to the "T".

I've used that same setting as a starting point for all take-offs at all weight ranges. If I feel the aircraft needs a bump either up or down on the trim as the aircraft breaks ground, it is usually not very far from this start point.
