[Answered] Cabin Lights die after about 15 seconds with APU

Post by Alyot »

Hi,

I've been flying the Stratocruiser around the world, much of it at night. In setting up my flights, I keep running into the problem of my VC Cabin lights dying, apparently with the Battery dying, but the APU is still on and there's high voltage on both the Main and Battery buses. The APU and Cabin lights and Battery switch are the only thing I have on. The forward VC light dies in about 30 seconds, then the Flight Engineers desk light goes out about 30 seconds after that. The only way in the plane, I've found to fix it quick is to turn the Battery off and wait for it to charge.
Isn't there enough current coming from the APU to keep 3 light bulbs on longer than a minute? :/ I don't remember if this has always done this, or if something changed, but is there something I can do about this?

Thank you,
:)
