Thanks guys for this great addition to a wonderful model.

Just been through the introductory topic and seen a few bugs reported and thought I'd start a standalone thread dedicated to correlating them.

In my case it's the Carb #1 Temperature on decent or under cold climatic conditions. The carb operates much cooler than the other 3 and the back pressure is much lower. I've completed a couple of engine overhauls and tried a few things.

So are they equal during takeoff, climb, cruise, etc.?

There looks to be something wrong with your #1 turbo. See the backpressure gauge on the left.

Try renewing your .dat file.

Ahhhh ha!!!! I had this issue as well (pre SP1). This is exactly what I was seeing too! Yet to test under CotS SP1.

Best regards,
Robin.

Yes! The temperature and back pressure also creeps back to normal if I have to apply a little more power, during decent, to trim the aircraft.

BTW I have COTS (Full Version) installed over the base product with the SP2 hotfix (no accereration) on the XP SP3 platform.

Lost,

If you can, please tell me EXACTLY what you do to re-create this issue.

Scott.

Thank you Scott

Engine Condition = Excellent and Good.
Prop RPM anywhere in the green usually 2100 to 2300.
ADI Off or On – Auto.
OAT = 6 Deg C or there abouts but tested up to 32 Deg C at 5500 Ft and 40 at ground level.
Mixture Auto Rich or Auto Lean.
Decent around 600 to 700 FPM but does not matter.
Altitude and IAS do not matter.
Flaps, UC, and anything else that introduce drag do not matter.
CHTs OK.
Fuel and oil pressures OK.
Torques OK.

During the decent and getting to a point where I need to set up my approach anytime I reduce the throttles below 21% (manifold pressure 14in HG and exhaust back pressure 30 in HG) the Carb #1 temperature (slowly) and back pressure (quickly) separate from the others, it drops up to 15 in HG lower.

The Turbo Blower #1 Temp remains in line with Engine #4 both about 2 degrees cooler that 2 and 3. I’ve tried taking over full FE control and tweaking a few things but it does not help. Rotating the Turbo #1 Calibration adjustment from one limit to the other makes no difference whilst the mismatch is seen.

As stated earlier as soon as I have reapplied power above 21% everything begins to line up again.

EDIT: The error is there whether or not FE Auto modes are selected or not.

Tried a re install.

Something else I have just noted whilst testing in the Automatic FE modes is about 6 NM from touch down at some 1500 ft above the runway:
Tanks 2 and 3 are feeding their own engines.
Engines 1 and 4 are feeding from the Center Tank, OPEN as it has not drained yet.
Tanks #1 and #4 switch “Tank to Engine” (to be expected) BUT they get hyper active and cycle back and forth several times before settling. The Center Tank Pump/Valve remains OPEN where I would expect it to CLOSE.
The fuel booster pumps switch on, in sequence (to be expected).

Did I miss the question about the installed COTS Upgrade 1.1 viewtopic.php?f=37&t=26292 ? Have you installed it? Not sure but some of the items remind me to something during testing. So my question is just to make sure that we are all on the same software level.

Good point, thanks for the link. Only stumbled across and bought COTS a week ago, it didn’t occur to me to go searching for an update to a product that I thought was relatively new. Note to self, spend some time cruising through this site!

The update has repaired the Carb/BP problem, sorry for the inconvenience Scott.

Carb #1 and Engine #1 Back Pressure appear to have been OK it was the remaining 3 that were in error, as I thought was the case in a PM I sent to Scott last night.

The Eng #1 and #4 fuel valves are not oscillating now but the Center Tank Pump remains ON with all selectors at the Tank to Engine position which may be correct I don’t know!
