Pretty self explanatory. I am currently using two Saitek throttles and a CH throttle quadrant, plus a yoke and pedals. I have 12 levers total, mapped like this: 1=RPM, 2 thru 5=throttles, 6=Turbos, 7 thru 10 = Mixtures, 11 and 12 empty. My rocker switches are Reversers, Gear, Flaps, Attitude adjust, and Bank Adjust. I use FSUIPC for everything but the Ailerons, Rudders, and Elevators. I really like this setup and couldn't go back to a joystick, thats for sure!
So what is everybody else in Flight Sim Ville using to control the Stratocruiser?? Do you like it?

Being the one in the team on the more casual side of things, although I do own a full CH setup most of my simming is keyboard + mouse and a MS Sidewinder Freestyle Pro gryo pad.

Personally I've got a full Saitek pro yoke set up + rudder pedals. I used to use the X52 pro but decided to go for the full realism effect! I've got the first lever assigned to throttle, one to prop pitch and the other running the turbos. Great fun!

Nothing special: I'm using the Thrustmaster HOTAS X. It's a reasonably cheap Stick/Throttle combo with a twistable grip to control the rudder. It's quite good considering its low price. The thumb buttons on the HOTAS are conveniently dedicated to flaps and landing gear. The only thing that I don't like is the detent in the middle of the throttle range which makes smooth throttle operation at bit difficult at times. I probably could set it up in such a way that the range above the detent would act as the normal throttle range and that the lower range becomes the beta/reverse thrust area, but I couldn't be bothered to find out how, yet. ;)

p.s.: Shame on you, Lewis! Shame on you!

TM WarthogH+TIR5+Saitek Peddels. Love the heavy metal feel to the WH stick even though its a bit on the expensive side. its not let me down yet. Had it 6 months now and there is still no deadzone or slack at all.

TM Warthog HOTAS. No rudder pedals yet.

@Andysim: there shouldn't be any issues with accuracy due to the sensing technology used. :D

Best regards,
Robin.

I have a CH yoke and pedals and 2 saitek throttle quads having just retired my CH throttle quad due to it aging but with a bit of TLC its taken a role of doing the 4 mixtures controls. I also use a TiR4 with pro clip and 2 saitek instruments displays as well as saiteks switch panel, auto pilot panel, radio panel and BIP.

I save my TH Warthog for Rise of Flight or DCS : A10 :)

And I think I need more USB ports / decent powered hubs !

For many years a MS Sidewinder Force Feedback 2, which is a brilliant joystick. Still working as good as new after some 6 or more years of service.

More recently, I got the full Saitek Pro Flight range of Yoke, Throttle Quadrant and Pedals. Soon I will add another throttle quadrant for a total of 6 axes (4 throttle, 1 prop, 1 turbo for the 377). Bit of a pain to set it all up at times.

I still feel I'm more proficient at flying with the FFB2, since it's very easy to use a light touch and make fine adjustments with a smaller dead zone than the yoke, but I'm slowly improving with the Saitek gear and it feels more authentic 8)

I forgot to mention the use of Track IR. Simply indispensable tool.

For FSUIPC users, some of you might experiment with Mousewheel Trim. The mousewheel isn't much of a wheel, but on a plane that doesn't really have electric trim on a thumb switch, I feel it is more genuine...you can't work your throttles and trim at the same time. I guess you could always use an extra controller lever for this as well, but it seems that most people have those all used up for other things. And for planes that have both a trim wheel and a thumb switch, you can have both of those as well, because unlike when you assign a lever for trim, the mousewheel and the thumb switch won't conflict with each other. It WILL conflict though if you prefer to tune your radios and other knobs with the mousewheel, so maybe just don't do that :)

Hi Lukas, Hi Mustang,

how did you get the Turbo-leaver (of the 377) on an axis of the Saitek-Throttle or any other device to move it?
until now I am desperate about that.

best regards
Peter
