Scott,
I just tried the links in your original post. The first two under "Youtube:" have the following error when you get to Youtube; This video has been removed due to terms of use violation.
Just thought I'd let you know.
Thanks to everyone posting info on the Stratocruiser. I just purchased it with Accu-Sim and can use all the help I can get!

Thanks for the tipcdu801 wrote:There is a very good book in the Airliner Tech Series (Volume 9) by Nicholas A. Veronico entiltled Boeing 377 Stratocruiser (available for a reasonable price from Amazon at least here in the US). For those who are enjoying this wonderful addon from A2A (I can't wait for more of the Silver Wings series--any Douglas DC-3 thru DC-7 would be fantastic) this book provides a very thorough history of the 377 including the individual histories on each of the planes. If you're interested in more detail on this plane, I can't recommend it enough.

Ordered it from Amazon... estimated delivery in August
Gets little while to get book from USA to here in Finland with standard shipping.
Anyway another great book to wait for so thanks for the tip
I also ordered a book called: Douglas Propliners: DC-1 to DC-7" by Pearcy (got it hardcovered at 11$)
You might be interested in that, since you talk about DCs in your post

Thanks also from Germany for the hint, the "ship" seems to reach Germany two weeks earlier than Finland...melendir wrote:Thanks for the tipcdu801 wrote:There is a very good book in the Airliner Tech Series (Volume 9) by Nicholas A. Re: Stratocruiser Real-World ARTICLES and RESOURCES
I've recently read Graham White's "R-4350 Pratt & Whitney's Major Miracle" published by Specialty Press. While not specifically a book about the Stratocruiser it does have a small and imformative section concerning the plane. This is a well written book and at just over 600 pages has a wealth of information for anyone interested in the development of this great engine. The only downside is it's somewhat pricey but I found it well worth the expense. Highly recommended!

These charts are actually required to fly the b377 correctly, and I don't know what A2A was thinking in not including them in their own docs.
You'll also need this table:Folks,
AEHS - Airline Engine Historical Society have authorized me to share the following Boeing B-377-10-33 performance charts with you:

I'm getting 403 errors for those documents. Are they available somewhere else?BraselC5048 wrote:These charts are actually required to fly the b377 correctly, and I don't know what A2A was thinking in not including them in their own docs.

BraselC5048,
How do you go about planning a flight for a given range and payload using these charts?
I get the climd, take-off and landing charts. I don't even know where to star with the rest.

Don''t know if this video already has been mentioned. The Boeing Stratocruiser landed for the first time on Schiphol in 1949.

Re: Stratocruiser Real-World ARTICLES and RESOURCES
Thanks for sharing the video! I had to let her go earlier this year when I moved to P3Dv4, but she was well over a thousand hours of pure, challenging, immersive joy to fly.
My sincere congratulations to you and Tim and everybody who helped keep the dream of a flyable C-97 alive.
